Jennie Finch pitches how fast?

Jennie Finch, a softball pitcher, is known for throwing pitches at 90 miles per hour, however her average pitch speed is 65 miles per hour. Because a softball mound is closer to home plate than a baseball mound, the reported speed differs.

Jennie Finch won back-to-back national titles in softball at the University of Arizona during her sophomore and junior seasons. In 2003, the University retired her jersey number. Finch later joined the Chicago Bandits as a professional player. She also represented the United States of America in softball at the 2004 Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal.
