The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has a logo of a yellow shoe with wings on it. Within the corporation and around the world, the logo is referred to as the Wingfoot symbol.
After seeing a statue of the Roman deity Mercury, Goodyear’s owner and founder came up with the notion. The Wingfoot has grown in size and style over the years. The Wingfoot has remained in the middle of the Goodyear Tires and Rubber logo throughout its history. Mercury’s winged foot was chosen because of the god’s connection to speed and his role as a messenger of good news.
