What Is Chicken Kow and What Does It Mean?



Chicken kow is a Chinese stir-fry meal made with chicken and veggies such red peppers, onions, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. It’s usually served with rice and takes around 20 minutes to prepare.

Chicken kow is a versatile dish that may be customised to the individual’s preferences. Carrots, water chestnuts, onions, green and red peppers, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots are common veggies found in the dish. Various meats, such as beef, shrimp, or tofu, can be used to make chicken kow. Sherry, soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, and sesame oil are used to make the “kow” sauce. After the chicken and vegetable mixture has been stir-fried, the sauce is prepared separately and added to it.

To make chicken kow, follow these steps:

Chicken should be cut into bite-sized pieces.

Choose the vegetables you want to eat and cut them into bite-sized pieces.

Over medium-high heat, heat a stir-fry pan.

In a small saucepan, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil for about 1 minute.

Cook for around 7 minutes with the chicken and vegetables in the pan.

Meanwhile, make the sauce by combining all of the remaining ingredients in a separate bowl.

Add the sauce to the skillet once the chicken is cooked and the vegetables are soft.

Cook until everything is well heated.

With chopsticks, serve in a bowl over rice.
