The chemical substance tin(IV) sulfite has the molecular formula Sn(SO3)2. One atom of tin, denoted by the symbol Sn, six atoms of oxygen, denoted by the symbol O, and two atoms of sulphur, denoted by the symbol S, make up the compound.
Stannic sulfite is another name for tin(IV) sulfite. Its molar mass per mole is 278.83 grammes. The combination is produced by combining the ion tin(IV), which has a charge of +4, with the ion sulfite, which has a charge of -2 and is made up of one atom of sulphur and three atoms of oxygen. Two ions of sulfite are required to balance the charge on one ion of tin when the two ions join (IV).
