What Is the Name of a 14-Sided Shape?

A 14-sided object is called a tetradecagon or tetrakaidecagon if it is a polygon, or a shape with closed sides. Any polygon, where n is the number of sides, can be called an n-gon. A 14-gon is a 14-sided shape in this case.

Polygons with practically any number of sides have names. The Greek prefix and suffix for the number of sides are combined to create these names. For example, “heptacontakai” is the prefix for 70, while “digon” is the suffix for two. As a result, heptacontakaidigon is the name for a 72-sided polygon. Instead, a 72-sided polygon would be referred to as a 72-gon in the n-gon naming scheme.
